Stuff I played – May 2026

Better late than never aye? I know I have been away for quite a while mostly because of a vacation and some difficulty getting myself time. Add to that another post that ended up dying in draft and I think I need to just get back to writing something. I wish I could remember well what I played already in May but I guess I need to see the next chart just as much as you guys do!

Everything I played

The New

Nothing….nothing is new….that doesn’t mean it is bad some of these haven’t been played in quite a while.

The Good

Trick Shot: This was a shortened arcade game with my kiddo but it still pointed out how much fun Trick Shot is even at its….least awesome. Games like this remind make me a little sad I don’t have a dedicated person for 2 player games….because I want to play this so much more often.

Kingdom Death Monster: The campaign continues and has not died (though at the time of writing people are being quite flaky so I am pushing hard to get this to happen) still enjoying it. Got to try my hand at the antelope and it….it screamed a lot and we had our first death because of it. Now we have to deal with that…

Keyflower: I do not get to play this game enough but oh man is it ever fund when I do. This game is at the end of the day quite mean though. There comes a time near the end of the game when you realize that someone is winning and you shift your focus to reducing their points and blocking them…or you miss it and they snowball. This game I snowballed and it was glorious. The most interesting bit of this game is that we ended up with basically no green meeples in the mix! That means everyone just had to fight for the three normal colours and no super meeples managed to snag up any last minute items.

Race for the Galaxy: Love me some RftG! I still think this game holds up no matter how many years it has been but I really do need to find some people to play it semi-regularly so that we can all be about the same skill level and be able to see and pick up on the same combos. I’m not means great at this game but oh boy is it an awesome game that I enjoy whether I am winning or getting stomped in.

The Rest

Mostly kids games and one nice game of Wizards of the Grimoire (which I really do enjoy but falls into the same problems as Trick Shot up above of me not having a dedicated second player! Also So clover is good…I mean I don’t want to keep pointing it out in the good but I have recently passed 50 “rounds” of it and it never gets old. Works even better when you are either slightly inebriated or tired.

What I am looking forward to next month.

I mean….its basically July 2026 as I write this so I will refrain from putting on too much. But I would like to see me get a game off my unplayed list, or a newly played game. The next big board gaming event is actually in the end of July so I imagine I will have more to write about this later.
